Epic Six-Day Trekking Adventure through Pahalgam and Amarnath

Day 1: Arrival at Srinagar Airport or Jammu Railway Station – Transfer to Pahalgam

Upon your arrival at Srinagar airport, you will be met and transferred to Pahalgam. Alternatively, if you arrive at Jammu Railway Station or Airport, you will be greeted and driven to Pahalgam. Check into the hotel upon arrival for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Pahalgam – Chandanwari – Sheshnag

Depart from Pahalgam, known as the Valley of Shepherds, and proceed to Chandanwari. Pahalgam serves as the ideal starting point for most treks. Chandanwari (2896 Mts.) is a serene valley at the confluence of the Sheshnag and Astanmarg streams. From Chandanwari, embark on a 13 km trek to Sheshnag (3576 Mts.). The trail ascends the Pissu Ghati and leads to the picturesque Sheshnag Lake, famed for its brisk winds. Enjoy dinner and overnight camping at Sheshnag.

Day 3: Sheshnag – Panchtarni – Amarnath – Panchtarni

Begin trekking from Sheshnag to Panchtarni (3657 Mts.). The route traverses Mahagunas Pass (3200 Mts.) and continues with a gentle walk to Panchtarni. From Panchtarni, trek 6 km to the Amarnath cave, where you can take a dip in the ice-cold waters of the Amarnath journey stream. Inside the cave, marvel at the serene setting with three massive Lingams representing Lord Shiva, Parvathi, and Ganesh. Return to Panchtarni for dinner and overnight camping.

Day 4: Panchtarni – Baltal

Early morning, depart for the Amarnath Holy cave (3953 M) to witness the Ice Lingam, a sacred site for Hindus. Descend steeply from Amarnath to Baltal, a 4-hour walk. Overnight stay in tents at Paradise Camping, Baltal.

Day 5: Baltal – Srinagar

In the morning, drive to Srinagar. En route, visit Manas Bal Lake and Khear Bawani Temple (additional cost) or proceed directly to Srinagar. Overnight stay at a hotel in Srinagar.

After breakfast, drive to the airport for your onward journey.
